About us

Good Food Good Farming

Good Food Good Farming is a civil society alliance that campaigns for sustainable food and farming across Europe since 2018. We bring together groups and organisations who are active at local, national and EU level to put pressure on decision makers for a transition of EU food and farming policies.

From pushing for an ambitious Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), towards the phase-out of pesticides, we are active on many different issues related to food and farming and related EU policies. We mobilise people and organisations to participate in campaigning activities for fairer and greener agricultural policies, including the annual days of action every October.

We provide space for exchange, cooperation and skill-sharing within the campaign’s network, especially to national coalitions working for better food and farming. Good Food Good Farming supports citizens, activists, farmers, bee-keepers, chiefs and many more that are asking for a radical transition of EU food and farming policies! Together we put pressure on national and EU decision-makers and show: we need a fairer and more sustainable future for food and farming!

We are a diverse movement supporting the idea of a world based on solidarity where diversity and tolerance are a strength. We stand against discrimination based on person’s origin, skin colour, religion, sexual identity and orientation, abilities or any other characteristic.

Our Vision

Good Food Good Farming envisions a fair and resilient food system that is based on agroecology and guarantees access to healthy and locally sourced food for everyone. We want a future where livelihoods of small-scale farmers are ensured and public money is used to support those that produce food in a sustainable way.

Our Mission

The mission of Good Food Good Farming is to build a Europe-wide movement that is capable of exerting public pressure at EU level. Therefore we support organizations at the local and national level to engage with EU policies through exchange platforms, capacity building and joint campaigning. By amplifying the collective noise across Europe, we create legitimacy for transformational agri-food legislation.

Long-term Goal

By 2030, there is a diverse and influential movement of stakeholders engaged in the transformation of food and farming systems. The movement represents actors from all 27 EU Member States and acts as a collective powerful voice calling for agroecology, with sustainable food and farming having become a mainstream topic.

Why we act

EU’s food and farming system has become increasingly industrialised with greater chemical input, the proliferation of factory farming and the increasing consolidation by larger and fewer corporations. This is the result of different policies at the EU, national and local level. They concern agriculture, food production, trade, food safety, seed legislation, the environment, climate, health, rural development, workers’ rights and much more.

Big agricultural legislation such as the Common Agricultural Policy have ignored the position and opinion of consumers as well as sustainable and small-scale food producers and retailers. Millions of people want a different Europe with a more sustainable and small-scale farmer-friendly system. We invite people from across Europe to raise their voices and participate in different activities so that decision-makers can no longer ignore the support for peasant farmers, environment- and climate-friendly agriculture which is tied into local economies across global food chains.
